Cracking repairs

Cracks in buildings occur from various defects.

Thermal Movement

This image shows a block of flats in Eastbourne that has been affected by moisture induced thermal expansion.

The Helifix crack stitch system was used to rectify this damage.

Lintel Failure

Lintel failure is a common problem in both modern and older buildings. Failure of brick arches can be seen in many Victorian houses where movement has caused the arches to relax.

In modern buildings the outer skin was often built off of the wooden window frame. As this starts to decay or new windows are installed, the brickwork drops.

This damage was repaired using a Helibeam and Helifix pins through the lintel.
