Roedean School, Brighton

We were called in by Barley McNaughton Ltd, main contractor for refurbishment of the dormitories, common parts and staff flats, who had identified a problem with dampness at Roedean School.

We were asked to carry out a survey which revealed widespread damp and water ingress problems, which were longstanding.

The specification we compiled, overseen by Ana Monrabal of Buckley Gray Yeoman Architects and Edward Bain of Stace, included a cavity drainage system using John Newton membranes and incorporated a gutter detail to prevent water ingress from running over the solid floors.

We were successful in our tender for works to the school and installed the system in March and April 2013.
